How Piccadilly Pockets was born ...

20 years ago I began my love of time travel by working at the largest outdoor living history museum in the U.S., Old World Wisconsin.  Here I began to fall in love with Victorian style even more than any of my girlish dreams.  I began creating closets full of period garments, using lithographs and fashion plates as models.  I began sewing for other people and for the museum, under the business name of Stitches in Time.  I stopped creating for a while when my creativity paused for life, and then I discovered a wonderfully imiginitive genre called Steampunk.  At events, my biggest lament was always the lack of pockets in period garments.  Then I remembered the pockets that women once wore on the outside of their clothing because they were too beautiful to put inside, and Piccadilly Pockets was born.  I have always loved bags, and had sewed hip pouches for Jen's Crown Jewels at the Bristol Rennasiance Faire.  I love Victorian, Steampunk, belly dance, Irish, Scottish, Tudor and Elizabethan era styles.  Have a need?  Have an idea?  I can make a pouch for that!
